Standard Versions

Why have a standard version

There are issues involved with moving from one version to another. You may see changes in animation order, objects, and more. We strive to have all classrooms and faculty using the same version each semester.

Schedule of upgrades

Generally we only do upgrades between semester unless there is a huge bug that requires a mid-semester update. Please make sure to have your home and office system using the campus standard version.

Notification of new version

Your local tech support person should be getting notifications of the updates to teh software. If they are not, please have them contact saskers@ilstu.edu to be added to the list. Also, we send notifications to the clicker listserv. If you are not on it, please go sign up via listserv.ilstu.edu

What to watch for

Turning Point works with PowerPoint. This means that when the campus switches to a new version of Office, we need to also upgrade TurningPoint. Likewise, any large changes to office that affect plugins may also require an update.

TPAnywhere and Results Manager are not a plugin to another product, therefore, the updates can be seperate from any changes in Office.

Turning Technologies website

For home use you can download the software from the Turning Technologies website. WARNING: Their website might be showing a newer version that is not yet tested or standardized on our campus. Please refer to the standard version on the clicker homepage to make sure you are using the correct version.
